What about process updates ? do they count as separate processes ? will the total download number of the updates + original be taken into account ?

yes the total number of people that have downloaded the process (any updates) will be taken in count. Next week, we will update the list of processes to print only one line by process

It's a good idea to update the list because actually there are a lot of double lines 
Also , could you do so a process which have been updated still shows up in the newly created list ?
Because actually , if you release a process then do a hotfix , the process does only show up in "recently updated" tab . It means that if you want to be visible for the process challenge ( people don't check "recently updated" tab imo ) you shouldn't update your process , which is not what I'd call a good point for the process

The process challenge list is now updated:
-Only one line by process is printed (instead of all revisions).
-The download number of an extension contains the downloads of all revisions.
-The date of an extension is the date of the first revision.
I see what you mean about new and update in the "Most recent" Box, I'll have a look on it
