Both tomcat 5.5 and 6.0 distributions have a conf directory.

Did you try before searching another way? My advice is to follow the post about install the web app on tomcat. If you want to try to follow the documentation about v4, do it and give us your feedbacks.

to install Bonita as a server into tomcat, you need to put all librairies of BOS5/runtime/libs/server/ in common lib folder of tomcat.
You also need to copy all configuration files in conf folder.
You also need to set at least secrutiy environment variable (see the post I tell you).
