Process Excellence Week (#pexweek), here we come.
BonitaSoft will be present from Jan 16 and ready to demo Bonita Open Solution, answer questions, and chat with all comers about Bonita, BPM, and all things related.
We’ll be pimping* Pimp My Bonita. The community got the first word, now we’re unveiling it far and wide.

If you happen to be in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, USA, stop by and say hello to Dwayne McDaniel and Haidar Hadi. And if you’re there on Wednesday January 18, stop by and say hello to our “Special Guest Celebrity”, Bruce Silver.
Bruce will be there to discuss BPMN and will have on hand a few copies of his most recent book, BPMN Method and Style, 2nd edition. Some of them will go to lucky drawing winners, so be sure to leave us a business card.

*Yes, yes, YES we know what this word means. We prefer the Urban Dictionary definition.
We’re approaching the release of BOS 5.6, and once again we are putting out the call to the community to finalize translations.
Code freeze is scheduled for Monday 24 October at 8:00 am CET. If you want to get your translation in, the time is now!
We are specifically looking for improvements and additions in espagnol, italiano, and Deutsch. But BOS currently has many more language options…we appreciate your help to keep them going.
To help with translation, access Babili at: http://www.bonitasoft.org/translations.
Don’t remember how to use Babili? Or never used it before? Here’s a post with more information, including a tutorial.
And remember…

As you may know, the BonitaSoft R&D team was honoured to receive the award of Best Eclipse Modeling Application during EclipseCon last month. We are very proud of that recognition.

Although the R&D team is considered the “winner” in this success, we are very aware that there are a lot of people who have been involved in the development of Bonita Open Solution. Maybe some of them do not even know it!
So, we want to thank a lot of people who really deserve it:
- Thanks to the R&D team, who developed this product well enough to get attention from the Eclipse community.
- Thanks to the BonitaSoft officers, who are driving the product to ensure it is succeeding in the world of BPM, and that it is really democratizing BPM.
- Thanks to all the BonitaSoft employees who provide a lot of feedback and help to ensure that the product meets the expectations of day-to-day users.
- Thanks to the entire community of BonitaSoft users and contributors, who provide feedback, report bugs, and suggest new ideas. They may not be really aware enough of how much their input helps make the product better and better.
- And also thanks to the Eclipse community, and the other open-source communities we depend on, who very often solve our problems. There are lots and lots of people who helped us to develop Bonita Open Solution and even if they are not aware of it, they deserve a piece of this award.
And here it is:

This award is not only for a team or a company, it is also for a community of users and was earned because we had access to the knowledge of several communities of technical experts. Once again, a great example of how Open Source leads to great things!
We’re approaching the release of BOS 5.5, and we need community help to finalize translations.
If you have a specific language need, please have a look at the Babili translation tool, and offer your suggested translations for the new functions, tooltips, wizards, etc that have been (are are still being) added. Babili is synchronized with the build, so you will be translating as the last sprint is completing.
The planned deadline is 15 April. We’re aiming to have your language translation completed and validated, with your localization package installed into the 5.5 release.

BonitaSoft is growing its documentation team in Grenoble, France.
Our goal for this year is to provide the community with documentation that is useful - easy to search, with well explained features, how-to’s, and information on both development and production environments. (And we’ll be migrating from “old-school” to Web 2.0 wiki!)
There is a current opening in the Technical Communications department for a Technical Writer. If you know of someone who fits the following, have them send a cover letter and CV/resume to: jobs@bonitsoft.com.
It has been an exciting experience since we launched the process challenge. We are glad to see the active participation of community members along with their easy-to-use and value-added processes.
In total, 14 processes were submitted and downloaded 651 times and got 93 votes. After the end of the pre-selection process on October 15, our Jury of BPM experts gathered early this week to evaluate the top ten processes Read the rest of this entry »
